Terms of service
Last updated: 08/10/2026
These terms explain how purchases from Marine Scene are handled and the conditions for using our website. Please read them together with the product information and the policies linked below before placing an order.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Who These Terms Apply To
These terms cover purchases through our website. References to consumer rights apply where you are an individual acting wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession.
Different statutory rules may apply to business purchases. Any separate trade terms must be agreed before the relevant order is accepted.
Product Information and Selection
Check the product description, selected option, model or part number, dimensions and compatibility information before ordering. Contact us if you need help choosing the correct product.
Images may illustrate a product range or installation rather than every item supplied. The description of your selected option identifies what is included. Screen settings can affect displayed colours.
We take reasonable care to provide accurate information. These explanations do not permit us to supply goods that fail to match their description or other applicable legal requirements.
Placing an Order and Contract Acceptance
Please check your basket, selected options, contact information and delivery address before submitting your order. You must be authorised to use the payment method provided.
Your order is an offer to purchase the selected products. An initial order acknowledgement confirms that we have received it; it does not, by itself, confirm acceptance.
We accept an order when we send confirmation that the goods have been dispatched, are ready for collection, or, for an electronic gift voucher, that the voucher has been issued. If we expressly accept the order earlier in a separate communication, acceptance occurs at that point.
Before acceptance, we may be unable to fulfil an order because an item is unavailable, a material listing error needs correcting, payment cannot be authorised or a lawful delivery restriction applies. We will explain the issue and refund any payment for an order we do not accept without undue delay.
We will not substitute a materially different product or increase an accepted order's price without your agreement.
Prices and Payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include applicable VAT unless an exemption or adjustment applies to your transaction. The total payable, including applicable delivery charges, is displayed before you place the order.
Payment methods available for your order are shown at checkout. Additional terms may apply to a payment service you choose; those terms do not remove your rights against Marine Scene.
Where a pricing error is identified before acceptance, we will give you the choice of proceeding at the corrected price or cancelling. We will not automatically charge a higher amount without your agreement. Errors discovered after acceptance will be handled in accordance with the contract and applicable law.
Availability, Special Orders and Pre-Orders
Availability depends on the product and selected option. An item listed on the website is not necessarily physically available for immediate dispatch.
If an item needs to be obtained from a supplier, we will explain the expected arrangements. For an agreed pre-order, the product information or order communication will explain the payment and expected delivery arrangements.
Ordering a standard product from a supplier does not, by itself, make that product personalised or remove a consumer's applicable cancellation rights.
Processing, Dispatch and Delivery
We process orders the same working day when the items are in stock on hand and the order is received during our working hours.
We dispatch Monday to Friday. Some larger or higher-value items, including dinghies, may not be dispatched on Fridays.
After dispatch, Parcelforce delivery is generally next working day and Royal Mail 48 generally takes 2–3 working days, depending on the service and destination. These are usual estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates for every order. Same-day processing does not guarantee same-day dispatch.
Our Delivery Information page explains delivery areas, charges, qualifying free-delivery orders and specialist-item arrangements. Relevant charges and restrictions are provided before purchase.
Unless another delivery period has been agreed, consumer goods will be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being formed. If delivery is delayed, we will explain the situation. Your legal remedies for late delivery remain available.
For consumer deliveries using a carrier we arrange, goods remain at our risk until you or a person you nominate takes physical possession. Different rules apply where you independently commission a carrier we did not offer.
Click & Collect and Restricted Products
Where available, select Pickup in store at checkout. Wait for confirmation that your order is ready before travelling and bring your order number.
Some products have delivery or handling restrictions. Distress flares are collection only. Check the relevant product page and contact us about specialist arrangements before ordering.
Cancelling an Order and Returning Goods
UK consumers buying most goods online or by telephone have a legal right to cancel without giving a reason. The normal cancellation period ends 14 days after the day of delivery, subject to applicable exceptions and the rules for split deliveries.
Our Order Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel, return deadlines, return costs and reimbursement.
We also offer an additional 30-day returns arrangement for eligible unwanted items. Its conditions and exclusions are explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy. This additional offer does not restrict statutory rights.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
Consumer goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Depending on the circumstances and timing, your remedies may include rejection for a refund, repair, replacement or a price reduction.
Contact returns@marinescene.co.uk with your order details and a description of the problem. Photographs can help where practical, but do not replace or restrict your legal rights.
A manufacturer's warranty is additional to your statutory rights and does not remove our responsibilities as the seller.
Gift Vouchers and Physical Gift Cards
Marine Scene gift vouchers are available in the denominations and formats shown on the product page. Our published validity period is 12 months from the date of purchase.
Selecting a physical gift card adds a fixed £1.25 sending charge to every denomination. This is included in the displayed physical-card price and is separate from the redeemable balance. A £25 physical card therefore costs £26.25 and provides £25 to spend.
Keep the voucher code secure and check recipient details before ordering. See our Gift Vouchers page for purchasing and redemption information. Any applicable statutory cancellation or refund rights remain unaffected.
Technical Advice and Installation
Our product advice is based on the information available to us and the equipment details you provide. It is not a physical inspection of your boat or installation.
Follow the relevant manufacturer's instructions and use a suitably competent person where fitting, electrical work or safety checks require specialist knowledge. This does not exclude responsibility for statements, advice or products for which we are legally responsible.
Website Use and Customer Reviews
You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or submit unlawful or fraudulent content.
Reviews should reflect genuine experiences and must not disclose another person's private information or infringe their rights. By submitting a review for publication, you permit us and our review provider to display it for that purpose, subject to applicable privacy rights and platform arrangements.
Website content belongs to Marine Scene or its licensors. You may use it for personal shopping and product-reference purposes. Other uses remain subject to applicable intellectual-property law and any permissions provided with the material.
Our Responsibility to You
Where we breach our contract or fail to exercise reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable where it is an obvious consequence or was contemplated by both parties when the contract was made.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Complaints and Disputes
Contact sales@marinescene.co.uk or write to our address above, explaining your complaint and including your order number where relevant.
If we cannot resolve a consumer complaint, we will provide information about an appropriate alternative dispute resolution provider and explain whether we are required or willing to use that process, as applicable. This does not remove your right to use the courts.
Personal Information
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and how you can exercise your data-protection rights.
Applicable Law and Changes to These Terms
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protection available under the law applicable to them and may use the courts available to them under applicable jurisdiction rules.
We may update these terms for future orders. Changes do not retrospectively alter an existing contract without a lawful basis or your agreement. The terms applicable when your order was accepted remain relevant to that order.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
