Two features make this a stand-out product for emergency VHF communications. When the helical antenna and cable are removed from inside the tube, the hollow tube can be used to hold a broom stick or boat hook. The assembly can then be lashed to the pushpit to achieve greater antenna height, and as a result, increased range.
