This is the first handheld I have bought for myself. I have used others on different boats but I needed my own. I bought this model because although it is basic it has more features than its rivals in the same price bracket and better waterproofing than some.
I had some issues setting the squelch but after a bit of fiddling and using the Standard Horizon Youtube I got it sorted. I have been using it all week in a regatta and the battery life is good, it is clear and the volume is great on an open dayboat in some decent wind conditions.
Overall very happy.
