Burgess Marine Clearsealer is a UV stable, waterborne, fine particle, acrylic emulsion. When applied to timber, Marine Clearsealer dries to form a microporous membrane, sealing the timber.
Marine Clearsealer is ideal for the treatment of wood in areas not subject to direct sunlight. It is specially suited for interior use where minimum colouration is required.
Marine Clearsealer is UV stable but unlike Marine Woodsealer it does not contain UV blocking agents that protect the wood therefore, when used as a top coat on exterior surfaces it should always be used in conjunction with Marine Woodsealer.

Product Benefits - Quick drying
- Water based
- Allows timbers to breathe
Directions For Use
- The objective is to saturate the material with resin as deeply as possible. To achieve this, coats are applied wet on wet.
- Apply thin coats- this allows air trapped between the fibres in wood, or the pores in masonry to escape easily. Brush on as soon as the surface appears above the preceeding coat.
- It is possible to continue coating once the original saturation coats have dried. This will achieve a slight sheen.
- Allow 24 hours after the application of the final coat to cure before exposing to moisture.
- Clearsealer is UV stable, but wood is not, so for the complete protection of exterior woodwork we recommend a primer coat of - Burgess Marine Woodsealer - as appropriate.
- Stone, brickwork, masonry, plasterwork, concrete, rendering etc - will not require this additional uv protection.
- If rubbed down with wet and dry between coats (not always necessary) ensure surface is thoroughly dry before applying next coat.
- Clean wet brushes, spills etc with water, once dry - with petrol or cellulose thinners.
