Description

Hempel Classic Varnish 01150 is a traditional clear alkyd varnish containing tung oil for new and previously varnished wood above the waterline. Its flexible, high-gloss finish provides resistance to seawater, sunlight and adverse weather, while long-term UV filters help protect exterior woodwork.

Hempel Classic Varnish 01150 is a traditional clear marine varnish developed to protect and enhance wooden surfaces above the waterline. Its alkyd formulation contains tung oil, producing a flexible, long-lasting high-gloss finish with excellent flow during application.

Suitable for new wood and previously varnished wood, it can be used on interior and exterior areas including handrails, trim, cabins, doors, tables and other marine woodwork. The coating provides resistance to seawater, sunlight and adverse weather conditions, while built-in long-term UV filters help reduce deterioration caused by outdoor exposure.

Apply by brush or paint pad using Hempel Thinner 811 when required. On new wood, apply the first coat thinned by up to 20%, a second coat thinned by up to 10%, followed by three undiluted coats. Previously varnished wood should receive three undiluted coats after the surface has been abraded, cleaned and dried. Sanding and dust removal between coats are recommended for a smooth finish.
