Hempel Dura-Satin Varnish 02040 is a fast-drying, silk-gloss (semi-flat) marine varnish for new and previously varnished wood above the waterline. It provides a durable, wear- and abrasion-resistant finish with resistance to sunlight and weathering.

Hempel Dura-Satin Varnish 02040 is a fast-drying clear marine varnish developed to protect and enhance wooden surfaces above the waterline. Its urethane alkyd formulation provides a balance of hardness and flexibility, helping the coating resist cracking while maintaining durability under marine conditions.

Suitable for new wood and previously varnished wood, it can be used on interior and exterior areas such as trim, doors, cabins and joinery. The coating provides resistance to sunlight, seawater and general weather exposure, helping maintain the condition and appearance of exposed woodwork.

The varnish can be applied by brush or paint pad using Hempel Thinner 811 when required. On new wood, apply one coat thinned up to 20%, a second coat thinned up to 10%, followed by three undiluted coats. Previously varnished surfaces should be abraded, cleaned and recoated with three undiluted coats.
