Description
Hempel’s Favourite Varnish 01250 is a single-pack, clear urethane alkyd marine varnish for new and previously varnished wood above the waterline. It produces a flexible, durable high-gloss finish with good resistance to seawater, sunlight and adverse weather.
Hempel’s Favourite Varnish 01250 is a clear marine varnish developed to protect and enhance wooden surfaces above the waterline. Its urethane alkyd formulation combines a high-gloss appearance with the flexibility required for timber sections that may move during service.
Suitable for properly prepared new wood and previously varnished wood, it can be used on interior and exterior areas such as handrails, trim, cabin joinery, doors and other marine woodwork. The coating provides good resistance to seawater, sunlight and adverse weather conditions.
Apply by brush or paint pad using Hempel’s Thinner 811 when required. On new wood, apply the first coat thinned by up to 20%, a second coat thinned by up to 10%, followed by three undiluted coats. Previously varnished surfaces should be abraded, cleaned and finished with three undiluted coats. Sanding and dust removal between coats are recommended for a smooth finish.
