These are factory seconds and have been manufactured with minor , non-functional flaws or blemishes and are sold at a reduced price, rather than being discarded.

These imperfections can range from small cosmetic issues like marks, dents, to packaging damage or items that have been previously used as display or demonstration models. 

Because they are not cosmetically perfect, they can't be sold as new, but they still function identically to a new product.
