Jabsco Aqua Filta Water Filter Complete Unit

Jabsco Aqua Filta 59000-1000 is an inline activated-carbon filter for boat drinking-water systems. It reduces chlorine, unpleasant tastes, odours, discolouration and dissolved impurities, while its pre-filter traps sediment and debris. The unit provides an initial flow capacity of up to 14 litres per minute and is rated for pressures up to 60psi.

Water stored in a boat's fresh-water tank can develop unpleasant tastes and odours as it passes through tanks, hoses, pumps and pipework. The Jabsco Aqua Filta fits into the cold-water supply line and uses more than 200g of silver-impregnated activated carbon to improve the taste, smell and appearance of water that is already safe to drink.

The activated carbon adsorbs dissolved impurities and reduces chlorine, unwanted tastes, odours and discolouration without removing beneficial mineral salts. Silver impregnation helps inhibit bacterial growth within the filter bed, while the integrated pre-filter traps sediment and debris.

What is the Jabsco Aqua Filta used for?

The Aqua Filta is designed for installation in a boat's cold fresh-water line between the pump and the selected drinking-water tap. Jabsco recommends positioning the filter as close to the tap as practical to maximise its effect.

It is compatible with most manual and electric marine fresh-water systems and can be connected to 13mm bore hose, 15mm Hep2O pipework or suitable 1/2" threaded plumbing fittings.

Does the Jabsco Aqua Filta purify unsafe water?

No. The Aqua Filta is a water filter, not a water purifier or steriliser. It should only be used with water that is already safe to drink.

Where the condition of the tank or water system is uncertain, the system must be cleaned or sterilised separately before the filter is installed. The Aqua Filta can then reduce residual chlorine tastes and odours.

Installation

• Install in the cold-water line only
• Position between the water pump and the selected drinking-water tap
• Install as close to the tap as practical
• Mount in an upright position
• Leave at least 35mm clearance for cartridge removal

After installation or cartridge replacement, run water through the filter until loose black carbon granules have been flushed from the system. Do not allow water to freeze inside the unit.

Cartridge Replacement

The permanently mounted filter head remains connected to the boat's pipework. Only the screw-on carbon cartridge needs to be replaced.

Use Jabsco replacement cartridge 59100-0000 and replace it every 12 months, or sooner where water quality or usage requires it. Turn off the pump and open the taps to release system pressure before removing the cartridge.

Important Water-Safety Information

The Jabsco Aqua Filta is not a water purifier. It improves the taste, odour and appearance of potable water but does not disinfect contaminated water or make microbiologically unsafe water safe to drink.

Always confirm that the source water is potable. Clean or sterilise the tank and pipework separately where contamination is suspected.
