Available Purchase Options

The Lewmar V700 is available in two configurations. The windlass specification, motor performance and chain compatibility are the same for both options; the difference is the electrical control and circuit-protection equipment included.

With Switch Kit

The With Switch Kit option includes:

• Lewmar V700 windlass deck unit
• 12V motor and gearbox
• Dual-direction solenoid, also called a contactor
• Appropriately rated 35A circuit breaker
• Guarded rocker switch for helm control

This option is suitable for a new installation or for a boat that does not already have compatible windlass controls and circuit-protection equipment.

The dual-direction contactor controls the electrical power required to operate the windlass, while the guarded rocker switch allows the anchor to be raised or lowered from the helm. The circuit breaker protects the windlass power circuit against electrical overload.

Without Switch Kit — Windlass Only

The Without Switch Kit, or Windlass Only, option includes:

• Lewmar V700 windlass deck unit
• 12V motor and gearbox

This option does not include:

• Dual-direction solenoid or contactor
• Circuit breaker
• Guarded rocker switch
• Electrical control wiring or additional switching equipment

The Windlass Only option is suitable when replacing an existing Lewmar V700 or when the boat already has compatible windlass controls, contactors and circuit-protection equipment installed.

What Is the Difference Between the Two Options?

The With Switch Kit option contains the main electrical control and safety components required to operate and protect the windlass.

The Windlass Only option contains the mechanical and powered windlass assembly but requires compatible switching, contactor and circuit-protection equipment to be supplied separately.

Both options use the same Lewmar V700 windlass with a 12V DC, 320W motor, 320kg typical maximum pull and dual-chain gypsy.

The flush-mount configuration positions the motor below deck, while the exposed deck unit is manufactured from 100% 316 stainless steel.
