Lofrans Windlass Control Box, also referred to as a solenoid or a relay, is an essential component in a wiring loop for operating a remote windlass control from the cabin or cockpit.
The control box is an electric unit made up of two remote control switches enclosed inside a special container which protects it from marine corrosion.
The entire unit has been designed with a view to simplifying and speeding up the various electrical connections.

The unit is not as the photo. The spade connections now face down instead of up making wiring adjustments necessary. On the upside the unit no longer has security fixings making it easier to access if the contacts fuse.
