Lofrans Windlass Circuit Breaker

Lofrans windlass circuit breakers protect an electric anchor-windlass installation against short circuits and motor overload while also providing a manual isolation point. The range covers 35A, 40A, 70A, 80A, 100A and 125A ratings in thermal, thermal-magnetic and hydraulic-magnetic configurations.

The circuit breaker is installed within the windlass electrical system to perform three functions: protect against dangerous short circuits, protect the windlass motor and allow the electrical supply to the windlass to be disconnected when required.

Lofrans states that intervention is immediate during a short circuit. The motor-protection intervention curve was developed in cooperation with E-T-A Germany for electric windlass applications. After the breaker has intervened and the fault has been addressed, it can be reset and reactivated.
