Description

Lofrans windlass control boxes (solenoids/relays) are switching units used to operate electric anchor windlasses by controlling high-current motor loads from remote control inputs. This range covers 12V and 24V DC systems, with 2, 3 and 4 terminal configurations for motors from 500W to 3500W.

Each unit contains internal switching elements housed within a self-extinguishing polyester resin enclosure designed for marine environments. The enclosure provides resistance to corrosion, moisture and impact.

All electrical connections are made externally, simplifying installation and removing the need to open the enclosure.

The enclosure is rated IP56, providing protection against dust and deck water spray. It is not intended for submersion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Lofrans control box used for?
It switches the windlass motor using low-current control inputs from remote switches.

Is this the same as a solenoid or relay?
Yes. These units function as solenoids/relays within the windlass system.

How do I choose the correct model?
Match motor power, voltage and terminal configuration.

What is the difference between terminal types?
2 terminal for simple systems, 3 terminal for standard motors, 4 terminal for wider compatibility.

Are these waterproof?
They are IP56 rated for water spray, not submersion.

Does this include a control switch?
No. External switches or remotes are required.
