Description

Tecnoseal Bravo III 2004-On Zinc Anode Kit (KITBRAVOIII-04) is a drive-specific zinc replacement anode set for Mercury/MerCruiser Bravo III 2004-on anode layout. It groups the matching sacrificial anodes required by this Tecnoseal kit configuration so each position can be renewed during the same service.

Which Drive Is This Kit For?

Confirmed application: Bravo III sterndrives using the 2004-on Tecnoseal kit configuration

Important fitment distinction: Earlier Bravo II / Bravo III layouts use a different component set, such as KITBRAVOII-III.

What Is Included?

  • 1 × 00835: bearing-carrier / aft drive anode
  • 1 × 00820: trim-tab anode
  • 2 × 00818: paired side anodes
  • 1 × 00836: additional drive anode
  • 1 × 00815: drive anode

Fixing hardware: Included with the kit

Key Features

  • Brand: Tecnoseal
  • Manufacturer kit number: KITBRAVOIII-04
  • Marine Scene SKU: TS-KITBRAVOIII-04
  • Product category: Sterndrive sacrificial-anode kit
  • Anode alloy: Zinc
  • Typical water-selection guide: Salt water
  • Drive compatibility: Mercury/MerCruiser Bravo III 2004-on anode layout
  • Supply: Drive-specific multi-position anode set
  • Manufacture: Made in Italy by Tecnoseal

How Do I Confirm Compatibility?

Identify the sterndrive model, generation and serial number before ordering, then compare the existing anode locations and shapes with the component list below. Similar drive names can use different anode sets, especially across generation or model-year changes. Do not select solely by engine horsepower or boat make.

Which Anode Alloy Should I Choose?

  • Zinc: a conventional choice for salt-water operation.

Use the alloy specified by the vessel, drive or equipment manufacturer and keep the choice consistent with the existing cathodic-protection system. Water salinity, connected metals and stray-current conditions can change the correct selection.

Installation and Maintenance

Remove the old anode and clean the sterndrive anode seats and fixing points and electrical contact points to bare metal. Fit the replacement using serviceable fasteners and the equipment manufacturer’s tightening procedure. Do not paint the anode or its electrical contact surfaces.

Inspect the anode during scheduled servicing. Replace it when substantially consumed, damaged or loose, and check bonding continuity or possible stray-current faults where consumption is unusually fast or uneven.

Alloy Standards and Manufacture

Tecnoseal sacrificial anodes are manufactured in Grosseto, Tuscany. Alloy batches are checked using spectrometric analysis and produced to the applicable current US-MIL alloy specifications used by Tecnoseal for zinc, aluminium and magnesium marine anodes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are all anodes for the whole boat included? No. This kit covers the stated sterndrive configuration only; separate hull, trim-tab, shaft or propeller anodes may still be required.
  • Can I mix this kit with a different alloy? Use one alloy strategy specified for the drive and operating water. Mixing alloys without technical guidance can produce uneven protection.
  • Can the new anodes be painted? No. Keep the sacrificial surfaces and required electrical contact faces free from paint, sealant and grease.
