The Ultraflex T67 and T67W are 90° single-cable mechanical steering helms for outboard engines up to 40kW or 55HP. Designed for use with an Ultraflex M58 steering cable, both models provide a 230mm cable stroke, approximately 2.5 steering-wheel turns lock-to-lock and compatibility with steering wheels up to 380mm in diameter. Choose the black-bezel T67, part number 35809J, or the white-bezel T67W, part number 37925M.
The Ultraflex T67 is a mechanical marine steering helm developed for single-cable outboard steering installations. It incorporates an externally adjustable friction control and can be installed in four alternative helm positions, allowing the M58 steering cable to exit in the most suitable direction for the available space behind the dashboard.
The helm is manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials. The engine-side output end of the steering cable is stainless steel in accordance with the ABYC P17 safety requirements stated by Ultraflex.
Model and Bezel Options
- Ultraflex T67 – 35809J: Steering helm with adjustable friction and black 90° bezel
- Ultraflex T67W – 37925M: Steering helm with adjustable friction and white 90° bezel
Both models share the same engine, steering-cable, stroke, wheel-diameter and installation specifications.
Which Engines Is the Ultraflex T67 Suitable For?
The Ultraflex T67 steering system is intended for outboard engines with a maximum output of:
- 40kW
- 55HP
Ultraflex does not state a minimum engine output for the T67. The boat must remain within the maximum horsepower rating specified by the boat manufacturer.
The T67 must not be used on a boat exceeding 50 knots or 57.5mph.
Is the T67 Suitable for an Evinrude E-TEC 50?
No. Ultraflex excludes the Evinrude E-TEC 50 from the normal T67 application range.
For an Evinrude E-TEC 50 installation, Ultraflex recommends one of the following steering helms:
- Ultraflex T85
- Ultraflex T71FC
- Ultraflex T91
The correct helm and cable arrangement should be confirmed before installation.
Which Steering Cable Fits the Ultraflex T67?
The T67 and T67W must be used with an Ultraflex M58 single steering cable or a similar spec cable. M58 cables are available in one-foot length increments so the correct cable can be selected for the boat.

Adjustable Friction and Cable Routing
The T67 includes a standard friction control that can be adjusted externally. This allows the steering resistance to be altered without dismantling the helm.
Four alternative helm positions are provided to facilitate steering-cable routing. The helm can therefore be oriented so the cable exits in the most appropriate direction for the available installation space.

What Is Included?
Each model consists of the steering helm with externally adjustable friction and the selected 90° bezel:
- 35809J: Black bezel
- 37925M: White bezel
The steering wheel, M58 steering cable and engine connection kit are separate components and must be selected to suit the installation. The T67 is also available from Ultraflex as part of a ROTECH-IV steering package.
Stock note: A spoil tube is not included with this product.
Important Installation Requirements
- Confirm that the outboard does not exceed 40kW or 55HP.
- Confirm that the boat remains within its manufacturer-rated maximum horsepower.
- Do not use the system on a boat capable of exceeding 50 knots or 57.5mph.
- Use an Ultraflex M58 single steering cable.
- Maintain a cable bend radius of at least 200mm.
- Do not fit a steering wheel larger than 380mm.
- Do not use the T67 with an Evinrude E-TEC 50.
- Do not dismantle any part of the helm while installing the steering cable.
Installation should be completed by qualified personnel in accordance with the current Ultraflex installation and maintenance manual.
